Officers

President - Jimmy Barton

Jimmy was raised in West Texas on his family’s cattle ranch in Schleicher County. He is a graduate of Eldorado High School and Angelo State University with a degree in business management. Jimmy has served on the SASSRA board of directors since 2011. He initially served as the SASSRA market lamb chairman and is currently serving on the premium sale committee along with his wife Carol, and the SASSRA Foundation board. Jimmy currently serves as President of the Christoval Volunteer Fire Department and serves on the following boards, City of San Angelo Development Corporation, Angelo State University Foundation and The Bank & Trust local advisory board. Jimmy was a competitive 4-H and FFA lamb exhibitor and raised show lambs for over 30 years. Jimmy is a member of the AQHA and is involved in the horseracing industry both racing and breeding quarter horses. Jimmy and Carol have one daughter, Landry, who is a graduate of Texas Tech University & serves on the SASSRA market lamb committee.

Vice President - Corey Owens

Corey has been a volunteer of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association since 2001, and has served on the board since 2013. He is currently the Superintendent of the Market Lamb, Scholarship, and Mutton Bustin' committees in addition to serving on the Roping Fiesta, Livestock Judging and Wildlife Judging committees. He is a graduate of Angelo State University's Department of Agriculture where he serves as a Senior Instructor. Corey was heavily involved in 4-H growing up where he showed market lambs and goats in addition to participating in multiple other contests and events. Corey enjoys spending time with his family (wife Shauna, son Carson, and daughter Avery) and helping his dad operate the family meat goat and cow/calf ranch in Barnhart.

Treasurer - Casey Barrett

Casey Barrett has served on the Premium Sale Committee since 2013 and has served on the Board since 2018. He is President and CEO of Texas Bank and serves on the bank's Board of Directors. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University as well as the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. Casey enjoys serving the community and is a member of the San Angelo Health Foundation Board, Tom Green County Junior Livestock Show Board, San Angelo Water Advisory Board, and is very active in his church. Casey and his wife, Kaley, have three daughters that show lambs at all major livestock shows in Texas and are active in 4-H activities.

Secretary - Ladd Hughes

Ladd has been a volunteer of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association since 2002, and has served on the board since 2016. He currently serves on the Rodeo and Roping Fiesta committees. He graduated from Angelo State University with a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Animal Science. Ladd was the general manager of Bollman Industries for 25 years, and currently manages Double M Ranches. He grew up in a family agricultural business and maintains continuity of a family ranching legacy. Ladd and his wife Laura have been married for 26 years. They have two children, Trey and Halle, both currently attending Angelo State University.

Controller- Brad Fly

Brad Fly is a partner with Armstrong, Backus & Co, LLP in San Angelo, Texas, and has served as Controller for the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association for several years. He is also the Treasurer and serves on the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Foundation board. Brad and his wife Mercyla spend a lot of time cheering on their children at their sporting events.
