Qualifier Events- Tie-Down & Steer Roping

General Information

Beginning in 2018, the Cinch Roping Fiesta became a PRCA sanctioned event for both Calf and Steer Roping, meaning all earnings won by participants in the invitational events count toward PRCA earnings to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo. The Cinch Roping Fiesta is one of the highest paying stand alone roping events in the country.

While the main events held annually on the last full weekend of October are invitational events, the committee opted to have an open qualifier to allow those not currently ranked in the top of their event the opportunity to compete in the invitational event and earn some great prize money.

The Preliminary Calf Roping has been held for several years in the 1st Community Credit Union Spur Arena. It is held the Friday of the Cinch Roping Fiesta Weekend. The Steer Roping Qualifier will be held in September 21, 2019 in the 1st Community Credit Union Spur Arena. There are no admission fees for either of the qualifier events for spectators.

Ropers must enter through the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo office to enter these events. Neither of the qualifier events are PRCA sanctioned, nor enter through the PRCA. Please see the full list of information for each event below.
