Job Title: Fairgrounds Assistants

Reports To: Fairgrounds Manager
Position Summary:
The San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo is seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Fairgrounds Assistant. This role supports the operations, maintenance, and event coordination efforts at the fairgrounds to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors and event organizers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup, operation, and tear-down of events, including fairs, festivals, trade shows, and community gatherings
- Perform general maintenance duties such as cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, and maintaining the grounds
- Operate small machinery and equipment (e.g., forklifts, mowers, tools) as needed
- Coordinate with vendors, volunteers, and staff during events to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor the fairgrounds for safety hazards and report or resolve issues promptly
- Provide customer service to guests and event organizers
- Support administrative tasks such as inventory, basic record keeping, and signage setup
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
required
- Previous experience in event
setup, facilities maintenance, or a similar role preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and
perform physical labor in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of tools,
landscaping equipment, and safety practices
- Strong communication and teamwork
skills
- Flexible schedule including
evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
