The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and knowledgeable Livestock and Competitive Events Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an important role in planning, coordinating, and promoting livestock and competitive events associated with the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo.
The ideal candidate will need experience using Showorks entry database as well as being familiar with the stock show industry, be a strong team player and work well with other office staff and superiors, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to effectively promote events through social media and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Livestock and Competitive Events Director for the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association
- Coordinate and oversee livestock shows, competitive events, and related activities.
- Work closely with exhibitors, livestock producers, judges, volunteers, committees, and event partners.
- Assist with scheduling, entries, show requirements, event logistics, and day-of-event operations.
- Maintain strong relationships with exhibitors, breeders, sponsors, industry professionals, and community partners.
- Assist with the development and implementation of event marketing and promotional efforts.
- Create, manage, and publish engaging content across social media platforms.
- Promote livestock shows, competitive events, deadlines, results, announcements, and special activities through digital media.
- Coordinate event information and communications with exhibitors and participants.
- Assist with premium books, show materials, correspondence, and other event-related publications.
- Support the planning and execution of events before, during, and after the annual Stock Show and Rodeo.
- Attend meetings, events, and livestock activities as needed, including extended hours during the Stock Show and Rodeo.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association.
Qualifications
- Ability to use the ShoWorks entry database.
- Knowledge of livestock shows, exhibitors, competitive events, and the agricultural community.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, computer skills, and common digital communication tools.
- Demonstrated proficiency with social media platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with staff, volunteers, committees, and industry partners.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during major events.
- Experience working with youth livestock exhibitors and agricultural organizations.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
