The Ambassador program was founded to encourage young women to become involved in the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, while helping to promote the western way of life. When the program began, the primary function of the Ambassadors was to set pivots for the grand entry and post colors for the National Anthem.
Today, the Ambassador program has grown. Each year we have up to 12 team members. Drill Team members must be excellent riders and horse-women. The team not only sets pivots and posts colors, but also performs fast paced drills during rodeo performances here in San Angelo and around the Lone Star State. This group is required to attend numerous, extensive practices year round to ensure the drills go off without a hitch! The girls are young, but ride their horses fast, and that is what makes them stand out among other drill teams!
The girls not only perform in the arena, but enjoy volunteering throughout the year at SASSRA events and other community events.
