Contract Personnel

The 2026 San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo is gearing up to deliver another unforgettable year of world-class rodeo action, and a major part of that experience comes from the talented contract personnel bringing the arena to life. Our contract personnel this year bring an extraordinary level of excellence, boasting a combined 60 National Finals Rodeo selections and 53 Gold Buckles—a true testament to their legendary status within the sport. From the voices you hear to the athletes and professionals ensuring every performance runs seamlessly, this year’s lineup is stacked with some of the very best in the business.

Boyd Polhamus – Announcer

Returning as the long-time San Angelo Rodeo announcer, Boyd Polhamus will once again serve as the voice of the rodeo. Known for his dynamic delivery, deep knowledge of the sport, and ability to connect with both seasoned rodeo fans and first-time attendees, Polhamus brings energy and professionalism to every performance. His storytelling and timing help elevate each moment in the arena—from high-stakes rides to fan-favorite events—making him a cornerstone of the rodeo experience.

Justin Rumford & John Harrison – Rodeo Clowns

Sponsored by Bar None Hunt Co, this year’s rodeo will feature two of the most entertaining acts in the industry, with Justin Rumford and John Harrison splitting performances throughout the season.

Rumford, a multi-time PRCA Clown of the Year, is known for his quick wit, comedic timing, and ability to keep crowds engaged between events. His humor is family-friendly but never short on creativity, making him a fan favorite wherever he performs.

John Harrison, who has achieved the "Triple Crown," known for winning Comedy Act, Barrel Man, and Clown of the Year all in one year, complements the lineup with his own unique brand of entertainment, combining comedy, audience interaction, and high-energy performances that keep the crowd involved from start to finish. Together, these two ensure that every performance has moments of laughter and connection that go beyond the performance itself.

Clay Heger & Dusty Tuckness – Bullfighters

Sponsored by Family Power Sports, Clay Heger and Dusty Tuckness bring elite-level protection and skill to the arena.

Dusty Tuckness, a 10-time PRCA Bullfighter of the Year and 17-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier, is widely regarded as one of the best in the sport. His experience, fearlessness, and instinctive understanding of bull behavior make him an invaluable presence for rider safety.

Joining him, Clay Heger adds strength, agility, and precision to the team. Heger, a multi-time PRCA Bullfighter of the Year nominee, is also the most tenured bullfighter of the San Angelo Rodeo as he has been with us for over a decade! Together, they form a top-tier bullfighting duo, working in perfect sync to protect riders during some of the most dangerous moments in rodeo competition. Their role is critical—not just for safety, but for maintaining the flow and professionalism of each event.

Dan James – Specialty Entertainment (April 3–5)

Sponsored by Sala V Beef, Dan James will take center stage April 3–5 with his internationally recognized horsemanship demonstrations.

Known for his breathtaking liberty performances, Dan James showcases the connection between horse and rider in a way that blends artistry with skill. His acts often feature multiple horses working in harmony without tack, highlighting trust, training, and precision. These performances provide a unique contrast to the adrenaline of rodeo events, offering spectators a moment of awe and appreciation for the beauty of horsemanship.

The Dees Boys – Pickup Men

Serving as the official pickup men and sponsored by Mitchell Buick-GMC, Jake and Jeff Dees play a vital role in the success of each rodeo performance.

Pickup men are responsible for assisting riders off their horses after a ride - It’s a job that requires exceptional riding ability, awareness, and timing. The Dees father-son duo bring all of that and more, ensuring both rider safety and smooth transitions between events. Their horsemanship and reliability make them an essential part of the rodeo team.

With this exceptional lineup of contract personnel, the 2026 San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo promises not only top-tier competition but also a full entertainment experience. Each individual plays a crucial role in creating the atmosphere, excitement, and professionalism that fans have come to expect—making this year’s rodeo one you won’t want to miss.
